Prepping Your Referral for Success

Congratulations – you just submitted a job referral! Whether via Candidate or as an employee referral, the hiring manager will expect the candidate (your referral) to be familiar with the job description, and understand the responsibilities and expectations if they were to get hired.

Here are a few ways you can prep your referrals for success:

Get them excited!

The hiring manager will be excited to see a referral come through. Make sure your referral is just as excited about the opportunity.

Understand the role

In addition to reviewing the job description, share with them what you know about the role and team.  On Candidate, you can use the sharing tools available in each job listing to send the job overview and description directly to your referral for review.

Research the company

Recommend they visit the company’s website to understand the products or services they sell and who their customers are. Understanding the mission and values of a company can help your referral get excited about the company, and strengthen their interview as they reflect on their alignment with the same mission and values.

Encourage your network to signup as referrers with Candidate! Employers post open roles only visible to approved referrers; referrers submit their connections for consideration; if a referrer’s candidate is hired, the referrer is rewarded!
